All children should have access to the tools they need to learn. "Stuff the Bus" is designed to help low-income students start the school year off with a backpack full of supplies.

A Backpack full of hope

Since 2011, the Foundation has partnered with the Natrona County School District (NCSD) and The Salvation Army to provide the "Stuff the Bus" project.  The project is an annual community-wide school supply drive to benefit students in need.

Each year, parents spend between $60 and $100 to provide one-child with requested/necessary school supplies.  This only includes the items that are typically found in a student's backpack or desk.  For many families, this can be a hardship, especially if they have more than one child in school. The "Stuff the Bus" project encourages the community to donate simple school supplies at local business.  Donations are then distributed to families identified by The Salvation Army and NCSD.

Needed supplies every year include (list is not comprehensive):

  • #2 Pencils
  • Crayons (24 Count)
  • Highlighters
  • Sharpies
  • Colored Pencils
  • Supply boxes
  • Markers
  • Dry Erase Markers

  • Red Pens
  • Erasers
  • Glue Sticks
  • Safety Scissors
  • Wide-Rule/College-Ruled Notebook Paper
